Hmm, interesting. I like “Nearly Forgotten” and it calls to mind the one l wrote called, “Light Dances on the the Ceiling.” They are similar poems but you used a lot less words to achieve the result (which can be preferable sometimes). It’s on my page somewhere, if you’d want to peruse it and compare/contrast.

very true.
My poem was an attempt to illustrate how we can imagine or project an expectation of something in life before we actually have the experiences....‘when we encounter the real’ x or y, we’re forced to adjust to what this requires or feels like as opposed to a supposition. That was really the concept l wanted to outline.

I thank you, surpassingly, for reading my work and providing a remark!

LoL! I get more alarmed when I see the gangling house centipede (who usually eats those spiders) either sitting still or terrifyingly tearing ass across the wall. Our homes attract all of god's creatures.

Great little peak into an everyday, incidental observance.

here's another by poet/artist Jonas Mekas with the same vibe– “In the very end, civilizations perish because they listen to their politicians and not to their poets.”

super! I’m glad I thought to recommend it. If anything, we should take advantage of our art for the therapeutic relief it can provide.

Good one, Tim. As Lao Tzu said, [effortless action can lead to greater outcomes.] Not sure if you read my “Be As You Are” poem, but this made me think of it.

Well done!
Our thoughts often make for excellent poems.
You expertly synthesized them here.

Shu, it is so great you felt this way! I’m well aware that my poems only seem to find a specific audience and this one went relatively unnoticed when l promoted it.
–welcome to the forum!

Reality only exists because of consciousness.
Everything in the universe is the Cosmic Mind, whether it knows it or not.

People wonder en masse about who will miss them when they pass...l think it insignificant. This prescient woman saw the world just as it was dark and cold...our feelings have merit indeed.

So, would collective madness still be the result of individuation?

I urge you to read the poem that inspired this one to get the gist of the sentiment:

Immortality by Clare Harner

I beg your pardon but:
l hope you do not mean the poem is sad. It is intended to be uplifting and accentuating that death is not the end!

They don’t get approved or denied until right around the time before submission time is closed, so don’t prematurely attempt to pay without being patient to receive their verdict –unless you are redeeming a coupon.

I’d like to add that, although you were accepted into October’s contest, submissions are to be in English per contest guidelines.

An ineffable epiphany expressed poetically. Did Eliot ever fulfill his metaphysical quest?

Crows are the mediums and messengers of our world –I believe sighting them is simply a call for self-reflection and evaluation –they ARE smarter than people would credit them though some tactful mindfulness is required to see them (and your own situation by extension) beyond an annoying nuisance....maybe this would have been a more apt poem had you written about the incessantly barking, indulgent lapdog.

yeah, still here extracting the meaning and connections from contradiction, much like the great Dane would have (though surely his thinking and analysis were more profound than my poems).

Thank you for putting a smile on my face with your flattering compliment. I was definitely fooled and not aware you wrote the 'crow' poem but it was witty in its own right. I’ll have to reread it when l get a minute ...
I heard you had some physical setbacks (through the grapevine) and I hope you’re healing well....patience and prudence

Might I suggest also, as genres here, humility and tolerance?
....l have to say l do the same upon supposition of choosing to not despise another when considering their faultlessness in arriving in undesirable circumstances...thus subjectively becoming of a ‘lower,‘ or unpopular nature or disposition...it’s almost as if, if it isn’t in your nature to not judge, you’d have a tough time comprehending how others don’t naturally do it.
I found this thought-provoking....good to see ya back around bud

ah yes, a true state of unfetteredness....I perceive you may be alluding to the attainment of christ-consciousness - the surrender of ego and even thought...
and if you weren't, my apologies for the misinterpretation.
