“At least I didn’t murder an innocent person.” “She wanted to help Nyx destroy the gods from the inside out.” Thud. I looked back. Now Phineas was dead, his neck had giant finger marks on it. Cause of Death: Strangled by cyclops. “Look at that,” she laughed. “Now your water boy’s dead.” “Shut up.” “Every blessing’s blood is on your hands.” “What do you mean?” I lowered my bow slightly. “What? The emo kid didn’t tell you there was six lines?” Six lines. What does that even mean? “What do you mean?” I repeated, & held my bow back up. “The child of the silver bow shall have hands of red,” she resided, “and bare the key to the way of the dead.” Another thud. Zane was right next to us this time, his body had at least 20 bruises & was bleeding from several spots. Cause of death: Beaten. “We need more intel.” I pulled my arrow farther back. “I can’t help you,” she drew some circles in the dirt. “I don’t know anymore. All I know is that you're the one in those lines.” “Well enjoy hearing this line.” I was really about to do this. “And what is that line, child of the silver bow?” She smiled devilishly. “Fire." “Spears! Spears! Spears!!” I ran towards Apollo’s car while spears & clubs were being thrown at me as I ran out. I got a view of who was sitting in what seat. I could see a drunk Quinn was laying in the back with her feet on the window, Alexa was holding a small bundle of black in her arms (which was most likely Haven), & finally Harry gesturing me to the passengers seat. Once I finally got to the car I yanked the door open & jumped in, literally. “Go!” “Where’s Zane & Phineas?!” “Just drive, Harrison!” I screamed. And immediately he pounded his foot on the accelerator. While we drove away a spear hit the roof of the car right above the window in the back. “We’re gonna get pulled over.” Alexa said. “Well if you jinx us we will!” I snapped back. “Guys!” Harry yelled. “Look, it’s gonna be a long drive back to the house, & arguing is not gonna make it any shorter!” He lectured. “Now, it’s gonna be a long way, so how about everyone gets some sleep?” Alexa & Haven just nodded, & snuggled up in the corner of the car. Then Quinn rested her head on the arm rest. “Hey, Abby!” She looked up at me. “How’s the prettiest of the blessings doing?” She did two finger guns at me. Harry scoffed. “Go to sleep, Quinn.” I commanded. “Okey dokie!” She went back to her previous spot & dozed off immediately, snoring along with Alexa & Haven. I decided to stare out the window until we got back to Vensville. The funny thing is, we were in Lincoln, Nebraska. “Abigail!” Harrison shook me hard. “You were zoning out like crazy!” “Oh, right. Sorry.” “We’re in Kansas now,” he said, “you wanna stop & get the blood off ya?” I was really, really, tired, & I greatly appreciated it. “Yeah,” I whispered. “Yeah, let’s go.” “There’s a family bathroom right there,” he pointed to a door. “Try to at least get the blood off your dress. I’ll get everyone some drinks & maybe some blankets.” We both nodded & walked away. I walked to the door & yanked on the handle. The door didn’t move. Crap! Someone’s in there! They're gonna think I’m a murderer. I mean, I am. But they can’t know that. I killed two people in 20 minutes. The toilet flushed, & some lady with red hair walked out. She made eye contact with me. “Hey,” I nodded. “You heading to Texas too?” The lady just stared & back out of the gas station. “Least I got the bathroom.” And thank the gods I wasn’t on my period. I went strait to the sink. I noticed there was a long gash from where Ariel got me, luckily it ha stopped bleeding. I grabbed a paper towel & got it wet with some soap to get the blood off my face. Just looking at the water made me want to sob. I had let Phineas die, & I didn’t even react very much. I let Zane die, too. I didn’t do anything! And on top of all that I killed two blessings working for Nyx! No! Stop thinking about that & get the blood off so you don’t go to jail! I got some of the dripping blood off, but the stains were there. Harry met me at the car. He had thrown some blankets over everybody & put water in the front cup holders. I thanked him & we drove off. “Hey, Abigail.” Harry whispered. I opened my eyes & looked at him. “You were asleep for most of the trip. But we’re here,” he unbuckled his seatbelt.” Help me carry everyone out, I’ll get the spear out the back later.” All I could do was nod. I went to go get Quinn out the back when she suddenly woke up. “Hey, Abby!” She said drunkly. I quickly shushed her. “Alexa & Haven are sleeping, you weirdo.” I grabbed her bridal style & carried her inside. The lobby was just like we left it. The armory door open, the keys a complete mess, just the way we liked it. Home sweet home. “Ah!” Hephaestus poked his head over the railing, & jogged down. “Welcome ba… Why is there only 5 of you?” “Long story.” Harry said. “And why is that one drunk?” He pointed at Quinn. “Even longer story!” Quinn shouted & toped it off with a: “happy new year!” And passed out in my arms. “She had a margarita, a shot of vodka & two shots of bloody Mary.” Harry explained. “Ain't that ironic.” I said under my breathe as I looked at my blood-covered self. “We also need to fill you in on the nights events.” “How about we do that in the morning?” Hephaestus suggested. I sighed. This house is a mess. But it’ll work for the mean time.
