The Gods' Heist
Spring 24
“So,” I grabbed a dry erase marker. “Any ideas to get the bow?” “We could buy it from him?” Harry suggested. “I got money!” “No!” We al shouted at him. Except for Axel. He was still sitting the corner sulking over his wise-girl-girlfriend turning out to be a traitor. Like most of the blessings already following suit & joining Nyx’s army. Joining Nyx’s army… Just like the others… He is not seriously considering is he? “Saul,” I drew everyone’s attention. “What’s with the face?” He turned his head, but avoided everyone’s gaze, & everyone looked at him. His shoulders slumped. “I- I don’t know..” He turned back to his corner of the armory. And we all had the same thought. Please don’t be considering joining Nyx’s army. “You’re not considering joining,” Alexa said. “Are you?” “Yeah, I’m not even a blessing & I know that’s a dumb idea!” Quinn backed Alexa up. Haven stood up & positioned herself next to Axel on the floor. “We’re Olympus’s last heroes,” she grabbed his hand. “We all know the gods aren’t perfect, but the keep order for us, they’re doing their best.” She turned her head to make eye contact. “The gods need us, all of us.” She gestured toward the group sitting in the armory. “Even Quinn who isn’t a blessing.” “Hey, don’t hold that against me!” Quinn jokingly acted offended. We all laughed, including Axel & Haven, one of the only times I’ve ever seen them laugh. Once we were all done laughing, Haven leaned her head on the javelin throwing champion, which got a smile out of everybody in the room, & even a small aww out of Quinn. “They’re like siblings.” She whispered to me. They’re so sweet! I wish I got that kind of affection when I was younger. May the gods give me patience. I cleared my throat. “Well!” I clapped my hands together to get people’s attention. “Let’s get back to planning.” Axel & Haven stayed in their position on the ground, while we finished the rest of the plan. Axle suggested we go through the vent system above the main room of the mansion. “So we have the plan?” I asked to make sure, & went over the plan one more time. “I’ll make disguises!” Angelica shot up. “Axel, dear,” She looked at Axel & Haven. “Would you be willing to help me get my materials?” Axel stared blankly at the fashionista. “I forgot you were here.” That made everyone laughed again, except for Angelica who was fake yelling at Axel. I hate dresses. Me & everyone else were standing in Aphrodite’s room where Angelica made our outfits. Everyone was wearing a dress that matched our patrons. So nobody was wearing the same color outfit. Zane, Phineas, & Haven had the most interesting outfits because of their patrons. Zane had a baby-blue vest with blue pants, with a white tie & a lightning bolt pin on the tip. Along with some lightning bolts embroidered on his suit. Phineas had a more dark blue outfit with a fish tie & a trident pin like Zane’s, with some seaweed embroidered. Haven was wearing a black long-sleeve dress with a skirt that went down to her knees with a few bones thrown about. And she really liked it. She was looking at it over & over again, & asking Axel, who was wearing a red suit with some spears & boar’s head embroidered on it with a helmet on his black tie, to twirl her around over & over, which he did every time. Quinn was still swooning over them, but I could tell she was a bit jealous. Alexa & I were wearing similar outfits, she was wearing light yellow, I was wearing silver, she had suns & lyres on her dress, & I had moons & different animals on it. “And I did a thing where your guys quivers will be hidden until you need them!” Angel said excitedly. “How did you do that?” Alexa asked her. Angel stayed quiet. “Cox,” I cooed. “How did you do it?” “Let’s just say I might have snuck into Hecate’s room & stole a book on invisibility…” Her voice trailed off innocently, with Haven & Axel doubled-over laughing. “So we all know the plan?” I asked the last 9 heroes as we sat outside of the Mayron mansion. “Zane & Angel will serve as distractions to butter up the oldies,” they nodded along. “Haven & I will shadow travel around to find the keycard that allows us to get into the back-“ “Which I find stupid cause we can just shadow travel in & out.” Harry murmured. I chucked a snowball at him. “Focus, Grey! You know Dean hasn’t develop that kind of power yet.” I shouted at him. “So as I was saying, me & Dean will go around looking for the card to open the door where the bow is kept. Does everyone know their part?" Everyone nodded. “Good!” I grabbed my bow. “Now let’s do this blessing style, shall we?” “There he is.” I pointed Mr. Mayron out to Zane & Angel. Mr. Mayron was an old dude with a beard that was so long it could be stuffed into his belt. He had on a red button-down with a black blazer with black pants on & a white tie. “Wow, Harry! You two match!” Alexa pointed out. Zane physically grimaced. “Come on, lightning boy." Angel dragged him away to Mr. Mayron before he could make a snarky comment. Immediately they got into action. Buttering him by giving him compliments of all kinds. Like complimenting his beard, Angel flirting a little bit, & Zane even pointing out how they have the same tie. “Honey,” I patted Haven on the back. “Let’s put this plan into action.” She nodded & grabbed my hand. Immediately she started to move with the shadows As we looked for the keycard. We didn’t find it by the time Phineas called & told us that he had gotten into their security cameras & disabled them, while Alexa beat up the guards. “Who knew she could do that?” Haven said to me as we moved around the crowd, & we both laughed. We decided to step outside for a bit because Haven was getting a little tired. And hungry. But she said mostly tired. We sat outside on the stairs as Haven happily munched on a brightly colored donut, which I was nervous was gonna get on her dress. I was firing arrows at light posts to make sure no one saw us when we made our get away. Then Angel called & told me that Mr. Mayron had the key. “Alright, thanks. Phineas already hacked into the cameras & turned them off.” I told her as I shot an arrow at a light a bird was sitting on, & hung up. I updated Haven on where the keycard was & the rest of the plan. She hummed along while still eating her donut. I laid back on the stairs & gazed up at the stars. Quinn would love this, this is nice. “Something is gonna is gonna go wrong soon.” Haven said as she took a bite out of her donut. “That’s nice, honey.” I said, then I realized what she had said. “Wait what?” I shot up. “Yeah,” she licked some pink frosting off her thumb. “Something is gonna go horribly wrong. Probably another traitor.” “How do you know?” I asked her once I had fully fatten up.
