I'm 80 years old, been writing poetry for 65 years, had two experiences with Jesus, which I wrote about, this November will celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary, presently write short stories for a local monthly senior newspaper for the last six years. Recently got return letter and autographed picture from Doris Day for a story I wrote about her and I using 150 of her song titles as part of the wording, and also received a letter back from Queen Elizabeth for two poems I sent her when her husband died. Really shocked me on that one. I consider my poetic ability an absolute gift from God because I can write a poem in minutes with no changes, all in poetic rhyme, not prose form. Had one poem read on radio at Christmastime, and one on tv.. One poem after my dad died, took a 6th place award out of 12,000 entries which made me quite proud. That's one of the 2 poems I sent to the Queen. On that poem I can change the word "father" to mother, brother, husband, etc, to make it personal to the person I give it too. I have been handing out copies of those two poems since 1973 when my dad died. I have received wonderful letters of thank you in return. Makes me feel that was the reason God gave me the gift. Well, guess I shot my mouth off too much, sorry about that. Looking forward to submitting some work, but being strictly on social security I'll have to wait until I have some extra money, but it will happen. Thank you for "listening", Jerry
