The Serpent And the Apple Who hasn't heard the story of Adam and the forbidden apple? Who imagined it to be even discovered to have had a code hidden behind it somewhere and moreover, for someone to decipher it? And that that someone would even appeal to the government exclaiming that the heavenly fruit that was eaten defying the prohibition of the God, was nothing but the seed to a reverse Big Bang and the universe, from that day, started to go reverse, progressing in a circled pathway, towards the same point where it had started and which, if not stopped immediately, would bring all the existence to nothingness of a single point. But it is no fun for us since the code is kept confidential. The time we are talking about is 25th century. Ivanhoe was just having some "Cerebral empowerment coffee" when the news entitled "Beware the History's Scariest Hacker: Ivanhoe" flashed onto the fluid. He showed a great expertise in coding in the scientists' society but never had to use his skill in the practical world before the day he was announced nationwide as a "Criminal of Science". He was pretty much an established scientist until he declared his deciphering a code behind the Bible's famous story. He very masterfully detached himself from all the internet and "Human Tracking" connections which the government now used to control the morals of it's citizens according to it's own taste, "Tracking down" their so called "Human" self by thrusting their revered robotic nature into their minds and thus excusing itself from the question now being posed at Ivanhoe himself, "Are you recreating our "Core" beliefs?" He hacked the "Empowerment Fluid Supply System" and made data flow through the liquid medium by generating secret codes on both the sides. This society of polished and elegant discrimination, fine and praised larceny and plunder was choking him. There was a multidimensional loop hidden inside the universe and he has just discovered it. He hacked the museum to take control of the history's greatest invention that was conserved from human use, the "Multidimensional Breach Creating Machine", and created a loop inside the fluid in his cup. He then inserted his hand into it and grabbed the forbidden fruit. "Now those inferior humans won't be able to destroy the universe's diverging pathway of timelines," He exclaimed with infernal rejoice. "I created a new timeline. I just recreated your "Core" conundrum! It's sad that they can't behold it!" His laughter, resonating through the hollow of his little room, did not know that they would soon die to a bitter and horrid realization. Looking into the cup which was showing headlines of the update news, now that the breach was gone, and successively showing red alert along with the titles, he became delirious and sent a message which was never deciphered, "Brothers, I was mistaken. The apple was nothing but the projection of the gate between the beginning and the end of the universe, the point where our world and the reverse world meet. And it is now on my table, the gate is now on earth and the apocalypse is near. Maybe this is what we deserve........... I can feel the God mocking at me." Soon everything faded before his eyes. And there people did behold as he wished. Weird things were happening. The living and the non livings were being vanished or replaced or altered. Buildings, furnitures, cars were turning archaic or ultramodern. Scenes were changing and people were forgetting who they were. There was only one thing Ivanhoe had forgotten- the role of the serpent in the story. And now, in the timeline he created, he was the serpent. The grandfather clock was giving a click every time a person was dying an absurd death or being vanished. Ivanhoe was standing in a well-lit lighthouse. Staring out the window, he tried to reflect how it functioned that way and when he installed it into this room. But he could neither figure out nor remember. Just sometimes, quite out of place, it dawned upon his mind that it had resemblance to an apple. Behind his back, the clock screamed again. Outside, the sky seemed to mourn over the demises. Rain lashed against the grimy windowpane, blurring his view of the stormy ocean churning outside the lighthouse window. He glanced at the grandfather clock, a sense of unease settling in his gut. Was this just another tragic accident, or something far more sinister?
