The Panda Bond
I wrote this story because I went to red panda exhibit with my mom in Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. I felt in love with the cute little red panda.
Spring 24
Today, Belinda and her mom, Evan and his mom went together to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding which has the most pandas in the world. Belinda was so excited. She wanted to see tiny little cute pandas on the trees, wagging the fluffy tails. But when they got to the red panda exhibit, Belinda only saw trees, rocks, and windows. NOT A SINGLE RED PANDA. She was so disappointed. Suddenly, she saw a flash of red and brown stripes. Then it disappeared as quick as it came. Belinda was so excited. She ran around the glass, trying to see a red panda.Suddenly, she saw a little puffy head peaking through the branches. She was even more excited. Belinda is an adventurous, 9 years old child. She likes animals, especially cute, fluffy little ones. All of a sudden, a red panda pounced on the window. She looked at Belinda and Evan. “Squeal!””Squeal!””Twitter!” The red panda kept squealing until Belinda and Evan started to laugh. She scritched and scratched the window, making loud squeaking noises. While she was doing that, she looked at Belinda and Evan, cocking her head. Suddenly, a ranger came out of nowhere, took the red panda and said, “These red pandas sometimes have bonds with people. But there are very few humans that have these bonds. It’s really lucky you have one with this red panda. A lot of people like her, but no one has a bond with her. Here, you can hold her.” The moment she held the panda, she felt like she was in heaven. “She’s so fluffy!!” thought Belinda. “What’s her name?” asked Belinda. “She doesn’t have a name, so you can name her.” the ranger answered. “I named her ...Foxy!” Belinda said. Then, the panda squealed. Belinda thought-suspiciously-that she was trying to say her own name. “She likes the name!” the ranger said, “Looks like the name will stick.” In the end, Belinda was on the top of the world when they got home.
