The Fox and the Grapes

"The Fox and the Grapes" is a classic fable written by Jean de La Fontaine, which illustrates the concept of cognitive dissonance. The story revolves around a famished fox who finds a vineyard filled with lush ripe grapes tantalizingly out of reach. No matter how hard he leaps and snaps, he fails to grasp the fruit. "Well, well," he muttered, as he walked away,
    "It's my conviction that those Grapes are sour."

    The Fox did wisely to accept his lot;
    'Twas better than complaining, was it not?
