Mayla wakes up looking around the empty apartment realizing that nothing will ever be the same. She looks down at her arms and legs to see cuts and bruises. Her sweater is the color of eggplant with a huge blood stain. Mayla scrunches up her legs to her chest and starts bawling her eyes out. She started gasping for air as she was crying. In between her gasping she called out for her boyfriend, even though he was the one to do this to her. "ZEKAI, ZE . . .KAI , ZEK . . . . AI!!!" Gasping in between yelling out his name. Mayla tries to pick herself up off the cold hardwood floors. "FFFUUUCCCKKK!!!." Mayla now feels all the pain of the cuts and bruises. “AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!.” Mayla feels her head getting heavy and her body getting weaker. Before she even knows it she passes out. Kira pulls up to Mayla’s apartment complex and has tears in her eyes. “NO, NO, NO WHERE IS HIS CAR AT???!!!!. F*CK!!!.” Kira hops out of her car and slams the door. She runs to the apartment's double doors and pulls them open. Kira darts up two flights of stairs to Mayla’s and his apartment. When she gets to the door a sickening feeling washes over her. Balling up her fist beating on the door. “MAYLA ARE YOU OKAY???!!!!!!” Kira starts crying. “NO, NO, NO.” Kira beats on the door louder and louder until her hand is turning purple and stinging from pain. She then slides down the door and tears start pouring down her face. “Mayla I let you down.” Hearing heavy footsteps she turns around. Kira sees one of Mayla's landlord walking up the stairs. “What the hell is all the ruckus up here??? I got like twenty phone calls from all the tenants on this floor.” She stops in her tracks and sees Kira looking at her with red puffy eyes and shaking all over. “Oh no. What happened?” Kira pushes herself off the floor and goes up to the landlady. “Mayla Lee, one of your tenants is behind that door and I don’t know if she is alive or not.” The landlady looks at Kira with a shocked look. “Damn.” She shakes her head. “I knew I had a reason to dislike that boy that moved in with her. Always so mean. Never let her talk to anyone.” “I know, but I need to know if she is alive or not. Can you open her door please???!!!!” The landlady looking down then back up at Kira seeing the worry in her eyes. “I’m not supposed to, but I can tell by the look in your eyes you mean it.” The lady pulls a key ring full of different keys off her belt loop and finds key 250. She hands it to Kira. Kira automatically runs to the door and unlocks it. Kira runs into the dark apartment. She starts running around frantically trying to find Mayla. “MAYLA!!!! MAYLA!!!! MAYLA!!!” She turns on the light in the living room and doesn't see anything. “Where the hell are her things?” She runs to the kitchen and turns on the light all she sees is blood stains dripped all over the sink. She walks up to the sink and sees a kitchen knife with dried blood all over it. Kira’s eyes widen and she frantically runs to Mayla’s bedroom. She flicks on the light and sees Mayla laying in the corner in a pool of dried blood. Kira starts crying and runs over to Mayla. She picks Mayla’s head up off the ground and her eyes flutter open. “Oh my god you're alive Mayla I was so worried about you, and I still am!!!” The landlady walks in while she is on the phone with 911 and sees Mayla. She gets teary eyed. “The ambulance is on the way.” Kira turns around and nods her head. The landlady nods her head and runs out. Kira sits with Mayla’s head in her lap the entire time. Mayla hears frantic movements along with speaking. Mayla is carried to the ambulance as she is floating in and out of consciousness. Feeling the horrendous pain of multiple IV’s being poked into her one after another. Then as the world fades to white she can hear Zekai yelling her name, throwing her down to the floor, and then a sudden and intense pain in her abdomen. Mayla starts wailing out in pain. Mayla’s eyes open to the bright fluorescent lighting in the back of the ambulance. “Hon we are almost at the hospital, please don’t give up on us.”
