Imprisoned Between Floors
This story's about a person who is stuck in an elevator. Her emotions and state-of-mind are deeply captured. I wrote this story because I like to write stories that has suspense and mystery.
I sauntered leisurely inside the office as the glass door opened before me. The hustle and bustle continued as the murmuring of people reverberated through the office. Scanning the whole place, a large sign loomed in front of me. My eyes twinkled with glee. I was over the moon! Reassuring myself by rubbing my eyes, I again focused my vision and caught a glimpse of it: FOR EMPLOYEES ONLY. It was an elevator. Finally, after waiting for years, an elevator had been set up. Seeing the glossy, shiny, metallic elevator, my jaw dropped as my bag lazily slipped off my shoulders. I hurtled and flunged myself from the clogged corridor towards it. I hopped on the elevator and poked the glistening button for the second floor, where the cozy, comfy chair of mine was waiting with patience. The elevator closed slowly letting the particles of danger and fear camp inside it. The painting hanging inside the elevator cast sinister vibes; a sense of anxiety hung firm in the air. As I stood firm, a subtle tremor passed through my skin. The melodious music with eerie painting seemed very ironic; a sense of skepticism engulfed me. The lift went up with a ticking sound. The sharp acrid smell released from the base resonated through the elevator. Whilst the elevator lifted itself up, a creaking sound alarmed my brain. A buzz diffused through my body. Suddenly, the lights went out and started quivering. A bizarre vibration resonated through my body. Insecurity captured my heart. The elevator creaked and halted, producing screeching sounds which were like a deafening roar. For a second nothing moved...everything was hushed. I was in a labyrinth of emotions. My jiggling tongue was coated with tangy saliva. My knees turned to jelly. I began to fumble. I began fidgeting with my hand as I popped my knuckles and bile rose up my throat. A sense of panic blanketed me. My legs began to tremble. Sweat formed tiny rivers and swept quickly through my shirt. I felt uncomfortable to the extreme. Unable to sort my emotions, I began to scream at the top of my lungs. I began to bang the metallic, hard door until my hand soared. It felt as if it was the end of my life. My reclined back slid downwards as I clenched my frizzy hair with my frigid finger. A sense of regret burdened my frail shoulders. Grasping my head, with my shaking hands, I heard a clattering sound. I curved my neck up as a beaming light flashed onto my eye. I covered my eye and caught sight of a man who popped his head in and stretched his hand towards me. I sighed; a sense of relief cascaded down my body...
