Bordon's breathing slowed and he agreed. It had been a day and half since they had any water or food. As they trudged through the hideously overgrown habitat avoiding the crawlies, they did not say a word, there was nothing to say, their minds were thinking of one thing only, cold refreshing water. Once the boys saw the crest of the waterfall, they began sprinting, tripping over branches and dead fallen trees to make it to the shore and they drank, they drank until their stomachs were full and they were sick. Bordon sat staring at the peak of the mountain, as it reminded him of something from the maps. “That’s Dorvas peak!” He shouted “And this drella’s bowl!” Amilon splashing about in the water noticed something at the far end surrounded by a jungle of cone wood and hervas trees. Peering out was a massive stone hall with a golden dome that seemed to have been made the day before. “You see that?” He shouted. Bordon leaped into the water splashing fully clothed; the boys raced toward the castle in the jungle, stomping through the shallow cold water. The enormous stone door slammed behind them echoing through the massive convex room. Tattered rugs pattern the stone bricked floor, the wall, the same stone with eight cone wood pillars extending from beneath the ground to the golden dome four or five people high with eight torn green banners falling from the dome. Light pouring in from large gapping rectangles cutting the darkness, bouncing off the golden dome creating a yellow hue of life not typically seen. At the end of the great hall there was a being, draped in a yellow cloth like a blanket, a female it seemed beneath the cloth wearing it like a cloak, a beautiful woman with no hair or eyebrows and pale skin stares across to the massive door surrounded by a red diamond with a black outline. Her eyes were purple beams staring through the boys. “Ask.” The woman said softly. The boys did not understand the proposition, it was obvious this was the Farsee, but they were at a loss for words because of the circumstances of which they made contact with this being. She sat there as if she was stone, a stone pillar draped in a yellow blanket jutting from the floor. They brothers stared at it, finding the words to create the query. Bordon could only muster the words, “spherical cube” he said with uncertainty. “Spherical cube, an item used by the solofspring to power the galcruft. The power generated by the item will sustain for one point four million rotations about the center. There is a spherical cube on this planet, that remained here after the destruction of one of the galcruft during a botched landing mission killing and injuring a sizable portion of the Kiplar frumai subspecies. The Spherical cube has traded hand through the ages on this planet most recently being possessed by the Even occult, known for hoarding information and wealth, now the cube in possession of tribals west of here. They came into possession of the Spherical cube after the Faltron order stole it from one of the many Even shrines, the party carrying the item was massacred by the Polopis order who resides in the Kaloke. The item is personally possessed by Bapanaki, the paternomog of the Polpis tribe, in the dorvas deep.” “Ask” she said again solfty. The brothers stared in disbelief with more questions than answers but time was not in their favor, with that in mind Bordon asks one more question. “How will I find this location with no map?” “Place your palm on the top of my head.” she said as she pulled the blanket off her head, having it fall to her lap revealing her papillaless breast on a buttonless torso. The brothers approached it and Bordon hesitated as he placed his calloused hand on her smooth dome. As soon as he touched it he was sent into his mind, she showed him exactly where it was, as if she put a spell on him turning him into mushroom sniffing hork for the artifact. He knew in an instant where it was and how to find it, what route to take, what it looked like, what it felt, how it smelt, and the taste. Aimlon sat there with his eyes agape and his mind spinning. All he could do was kneel with his head down and pray, mumbling to the universe, the almighty universe that birthed this monstrosity that was beyond human comprehension. Tears fell to the ground and splattered upon his already soaked knee. He glanced at his brother who was staring into the dome with his eyes and mouth wide, his entire body was twitching. Moments later it was over and Bordon came to, removing his hand hastily with a look of confused anger, as it pulled her cloth to the original placement. “Ask.” it said again in the same tune. “We have to leave now.” Bordon said as he stared down into his brother's teary eyed face with a look of indifference. Once the brothers got to the far edge of the waterfall bank they looked back, to see the forest jungle that overtook the once great hall. There were no roads, no sign of human life, besides the hall, whatsoever. Perhaps, people populated the perilous landscape at one point, the lives of the inhabitants were lost to time, who’s lives no longer visible to the passerby. Individuals whose customs were no longer propagated amongst the vast landscapes. Their legacies were roads that led others to their deaths and provided safe travels to the tribes and the Vibarian clans. The boys stepped along the granite cliffs that were walls reaching to the sky, unscalable. The mountain told the legend of the planet, hand paintings that showed beasts of the present, but most were mythical, ones that had were not known by Aimlon or Bordon, the paintings were part of the now, unable to be rubbed off. The edge of the valley was adorned with massive cone wood wider than the height of two men, and reached more than halfway up the massive granite wall. A prime breeding ground for the scwallys that called the tops of these leafless trees home. The scaled flying divers swarmed in large packs to see what was infiltrating their territory. Some come down to feast on the biters and flyers. “This way.” Bordon said as he stared forward beyond the corridor of thick wooded surroundings. Aimlon followed, keeping his eyes on the back of his older brother's head. “Bapanaki has a treasure trove where he keeps stolen items, and the gold for the whole tribe. That is where we will find the spherical cube.” The item propagated Bordon’s thoughts, he could not think of anything else besides the nature of the tribe. He felt like a debt collector on his way to beat down, a wretch who is low on declun. Why did the tribe seek the spherical cube? In the back of his mind he realized he knew nothing of the tribe or their values, they were walking into a trap like the flyers feasting on sap that slowly engrossed them in the sticky ooze. The savages that didn’t just live in the forest, but were the forest and knew more about the forest than the diplomats knew about civilization.
