Blood-Bound
Summer 24
The oath of blood. The strongest oath ever known, taken only by the most devoted couples. It starts with a heartstone, a deep red heart-shaped gemstone with its own pulse; everyone is born with one, and it pulsates with waves of energy as long as one is alive. When one is wed to another, their two heartstones are glued together via a drop of their blood. From that moment onwards, a lifetime of fusing begins. As the husband and wife are being intimate, strengthening their oath, their two heartstones start merging: their pulses are synchronizing, and their energies collide and are blending, releasing more powerful waves; even under various pressures, they continue fusing—better yet, the pressures intensify their fusion. Once the two become one, it is a force to be reckoned with. Now, it is vivid, vibrant red gemstone, throbbing and pounding with overflowing waves of energy, its power amplified. A heartstone like this is deadly—just one can destroy an entire kingdom. Likewise, the husband and wife, closer than ever before, feel that they can vanquish the world together, and nothing and no one can ever separate them, except death itself. At this point, forever is in their grasp.
