Aldous Huxley, the grandson of the prominent biologist Thomas Henry Huxley, was a gifted and prolific English novelist; a critic, poet and philosopher. An accomplished polymath, Huxley possessed an acute and far-ranging intelligence and produced nearly 50 books (non-fiction, poems, and novels) in his lifetime. His works are notable for their wit and pessimistic satire, of which, Brave New World (1932) remains his most renowned.
