I'm Yessenia, I'm 29 years old and I'm from Homestead, FL. I'm a published author. I published my first book in March 2024, "The Ideal Patient." It's a psychological thriller. Most of my work are thrillers, but I also write horror, romance, and poetry. I started writing at the age of nine. I have chronic kidney disease and am on dialysis. I work as a peer mentor five days a week for the NKF (National Kidney Foundation). I love to write. Writing is what brought me out of the darkness. It brought me into a world where pain and suffering don't control you; you control them. Dreams can come true if you have enough courage to take the steps to make them come true. Don't think that life ends when illness enters our lives; life only ends the day we close our eyes to truly say goodbye. Until that time comes, no matter what happens, no matter what comes our way, we must be able to keep going, to keep on trying to make it happen. I always remember that life is one, and that should be reason enough to want to continue living it.
