Terms and Conditions
The general terms and conditions for the Literature.com Writing Contests.
The Contest
The Contest requires participants to post an original story, by filling out the nomination form on Literature.com and completing the entry fee payment prior to the contest closing ("Nomination").
This Contest is organized by STANDS4 LLC (“STANDS4”). By participating in this Contest, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, which shall form a valid and binding agreement between you and STANDS4. Any information provided will be used in conjunction with our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility and Restrictions
- There is no age restriction on participation.
- Multiple entries are allowed and requires seperate nominations.
- This is an online, international contest. No country restrictions exist.
- The minimum number of nominations for a competition shall be at our sole discretion, but no more than 150. Once this number of nominations has been received, the competition will be closed to new entries, notwithstanding the published closing date.
- Entrants must not be our employee, officer or agent, or an employee, officer or agent of any person or organization involved in the running of the competition, and must not be in a family relation of any such person.
- Submissions must be original works created solely by the entrant, without any assistance from AI tools for generation or modification. Any poem found to involve AI will be disqualified, with prizes subject to revocation. By submitting, you confirm that your work is entirely the result of your own human creativity.
- The entry fee is non-refundable.
- Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of all of these terms and conditions.
Start and closing dates
- Unless stated otherwise, each new contest shall open for entries at the start of each calendar year and similarly, shall close for entries when said calendar year ends.
- Any entries received after the contest is fully booked will automatically be entered into the next scheduled contest.
- No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
- We reserve the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God, or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation, or any other event outside of our control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by us.
Judging
- Nominations shall be judged or winners selected on the basis of the criteria specified on our website in relation to the competition.
- If a competition entrant does not meet the eligibility requirements or is subject to any entry restrictions, that entrant shall not be entitled to be adjudged a winner, and will not be entitled to a prize in any circumstances.
- Our decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winners and prizes
- Competition prizes for each competition shall be specified on our website.
- All communication will be done via e-mail; it is the entrants' responsibility to frequently check their email for communication from us.
- Competition prize winners will be notified of the competition result by email no more than 30 days following the closing date of the competition, and will receive their cash prizes not more than 60 days following that closing date.
- Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the prize winner/s. But if a winner fails to respond to our notification attempts, or provide an address for delivery of the prize or fails to meet any of the eligibility requirements or is otherwise unable to comply with the competition terms and conditions, we reserve the right to disqualify that entrant and offer the prize to the next eligible entrant and thereafter until a winner is found.
- The results of a competition will be announced on our website within 30 days following the closing date of the competition. The announcement may include the name and photograph, the town or region of residence or any other further details provided, and prize details of each prize winner.
- Cash prizes will be distributed using PayPal to the address used to pay for the entry fee, the prize is a gross amount and may be subject to processing fees. No cash alternative to the prizes will be offered. The prizes are not transferable.
- All non-cash prizes (Mugs, Books etc.) are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any such prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. Such prizes will be shipped using our distributors up to 30 days after the contest ends; it is the winner's responsibility to provide a valid address upon receiving a winning notification.
Copyright and moral rights
- You warrant to us that you created your competition entries, that you own all of the copyright in those entries, and that our use of the entries in accordance with these rules will not infringe any person's intellectual property rights or other legal rights.
- You grant to us an exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable license to copy, store, edit, distribute, transmit and publish your competition entries.
- To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you irrevocably and unconditionally waive your rights to be identified as the author of your competition entries and to object to any derogatory treatment of your competition entries.
- The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by Israeli law, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Israel.
What happens to entries?
- All submitted entries will be featured on our website.
Publicity
- We may undertake publicity activities relating to competitions and prize awards. The participant therefore agrees to the use of any details they provided signing up.
- All other personal details collected as part of the competition will be used in conjunction with our Privacy Policy.
