“Definitely! It’ll serve as a spark every time you put it on,” Mia encouraged, already reaching for her wallet. Just as Emma was about to protest, an unexpected voice interrupted their playful mood.

“Excuse me, is that silver wave piece new?” 

Emma turned, surprised to find Liam standing nearby, his slight frown betraying his curiosity. He was dressed casually in jeans and a fitted navy shirt that accentuated his athletic frame, the warmth of his presence making something inside Emma stir.

“It is!” Mia chirped, taking the lead. “Emma here was just saying how she’ll wear it as a reminder to embrace inspiration.” 

Liam’s gaze flickered to Emma, and the air between them crackled with an unspoken tension. “That sounds like a good plan," he said, his voice low but earnest. “The sea has a way of inspiring us, especially when we live in a place like this.” 

Emma nodded, momentarily tongue-tied. The encounter felt both fortuitous and nerve-wracking, bringing back the memory of their previous meeting—when their conversation rapidly became an exchange of heated opinions rather than the connection she desperately yearned for.

“Are you here for the market?” Mia asked, a playful glint in her eye, pushing Emma to engage.

“Just getting some supplies for a project I’m working on,” Liam replied, his expression softening as he looked between the two women. “It’s a good day to be out and about.” 

Emma glanced at her sketchbook, tempted to retreat into her art rather than face Liam’s quiet intensity. But Mia’s encouraging gaze kept her grounded, reminding her of the love she had found.
