(Gandhi, in anger, throws the constitution in the fireplace in the room. As the two leaders quietly watch the embers rise, too afraid to confront anything more, tea is served.) Modi:- Tea from the hills of Darjeeling. They are said to calm the mind and soul. Gandhi:- People surely need that after talking to you. Modi:- The person who made the world understand the meaning of peace lost his today. The only learning you were trying to drive through my head was the learning you chose not to use. Ironic isn’t it? Gandhi:- Modi, all this is irrelevant. This nation, whatever you may conceptualize it as, is in a crisis. What is the need of the hour is unity. What the need of the hour is for the present to learn from the past. And as I whisper these words during the ongoing tremors of a crisis whose magnitude we can’t even imagine, all that I can pray is for you to awake and listen to my words. Modi:- Apologies but the nation that you love is no longer the nation that you know. It’s for the best for us to end this conversation before the past and present rumples the fabric of reality. I am going to go rest and I advise you to do the same. The present leaves and closes the door on the wisdom of the past, while the past shivers in its regrets.
