‘W h a t. d o. y o u. f e a r?’ The creature gasped as tendrils of flesh and wire wrapped around Reginald's feet, crawling through his shoes and into his skin. Tendons were split and refashioned in a new image. Black liquid pooled around Reginald's feet once more and the hole drank deeply of what was offered.

‘I FEAR YOU! I FEAR YOU! I FEAR YOU! I FEAR YOU!’ Reginald screamed.

The machine sighed as spindled metal grew through Reginald's veins. A gory splatter of oil and blood covered the canvas of the machine's unflinching reflection. Wire, cable and shocking matter were the form of Reginald's new features—OBSERVE HIS GRUESOME PORTRAIT IN THE DARK SCREEN OF THE MACHINE!

The hole swallowed everything. And in a new kind of darkness, the machine spoke.

‘I fear you.’

Like a dying flower clinging to life in an arid field, Reginald tried so very hard to hold onto the sound of it—it was his voice, after all.
