Lucy In The Sky Page #4
Lucy Noel, a young adult diagnosed with lung cancer, is ready to make peace with the world. But once she finds her beau, Arlen James, she finds that life is worth living, even if you’re dying. Make the best of your life on the planet so you can go out with a bang.
I just want you to know that, no matter what, we'll always be together in spirit. You are, were, and will always be with me in Heaven. And I'll save a spot for you, I promise. Please don't do anything stupid after I die which will make God turn the other way on your life. Because I want you with me, forever. Please never forget me as long as you live. I want you to move on. I want you to find a beautiful woman on the inside and out, with perfect health and that loves you unconditionally. You deserve only the best. Sometimes I dont even remember that my days are almost over. Because every waking moment I spend with you, I am alive. I am living. I've never felt so alive with anyone else. I wish we could have been together under better circumstances, but unfortunately this is where it ends. I love you, Arlen James. And I hope to live at least long enough to become Mrs. Arlen James. I've always wanted to be married, just never had anyone to marry. Now that I've found you, my life is complete. And I'm not afraid of dying anymore, because I've finally found my reason to live. So I accept that my life is over. It's my time. And I know you respect that. I hope you have the birthday of a lifetime. And I'm going to spend your birthday with you, I promise. Happy 25th birthday, Arlen. I love you more than words can say. That night, after sinking in everything Lucy had said into his brain, Arlen decided he couldn't wait any longer. The date of doom was coming faster than he expected. He needed to marry Lucy now. This was her dying wish. And he didn't want her to die single. And he didn't want her to leave this world without him being an official part of her. "Lucy, I've been thinking..." "Uh oh, that's a scary thought!" Lucy laughed. "No, seriously..." Arlen said while they were in bed, reaching over to her to touch her. "Okay, what is it Arlen?" Lucy asked, massaging his neck. "We need to get married. And I don't mean in six months. I mean now," said Arlen. "Oh! Arlen, that is amazing news! Oh my God. I love you!" Exclaimed Lucy as she gave Arlen a mesmeric, velcro kiss. "I love you too," said Arlen. The day had finally come where Lucy Noel and Arlen James were joined together in Holy matrimony. This was the day Lucy had waited 22 years for. It was finally happening! The ceremony decorations were beautifully decorated. It was just like a royal wedding. Everybody was dressed in prince and princess apparel, there were ribbons and bows everywhere. There was even a royal horse and coach awaiting for their arrival. Lucy was wearing a beautiful emerald green corset gown lined down with white bows, flowing like a deep green river. When the ceremony started, so did their wedding song Love Story by Taylor Swift. Waiting at the altar was Arlen Tanner James, in an emerald green tuxedo and white bowtie, along with Arlen's best man; Gharret James, his brother. Walking down the aisle first was Jamie James, the flower girl and Arlen's niece. Next were the bridesmaids. Nicole Duncan; Lucy's friend, Rylee Kinsley; another friend of Lucy's, and Brishney James; Arlen's sister-in-law. Next was Lucy's Maid of Honor, Kalia Rheese Noel, Lucy's mother. Finally, Lucy's father, Justyn Noel, enters the end of the aisle. Suddenly everyone stands up, looks back, and admires the beauty of the bride, Luciana Kalia Noel, walk down the aisle with Justyn giving her away. The ceremony was beautiful. They both exchanged their vows. Arlen's vows: "Luciana Kalia Noel, you are my everything. I promise to keep you safe, make sure your health is as good as it can be, make sure that you stay away from diet soda," then paused for an audience of laughter. "And when you transition out if this world, I will promise to leave a mark for you. You will always be in my heart. I want you for now, from then, and forevermore. I never thought I'd be so moved by someone until I met you. You give me life, you give me love, you give me laughter, and most importantly, you give me you. That's all I need and all I'll ever need. I love you, Lucy." Lucy's Vows: "Arlen Tanner James, from the moment I first laid eyes on you, to this moment right here, and from this moment on, you were, you are, and will always be a part of me. My love, my life, my everything." I love the fact that when I'm with you, I don't feel like the world is changing; I don't feel like I'm about to be buried six feet under the stars. No, instead I feel like the world has stopped revolving - like time has suddenly froze over - or perhaps, you've simply stopped my heart, but have kept me alive this whole time. I know this makes all the sense in the world to you because it makes all the sense in the world to me, and we're always on the same page. I love you, Arlen. And I promise to always be there by your side, as I know you always will. You are irreplaceable." After exchanging their vows, The pastor had officially pronounced them husband and wife. Then the obvious kiss to seal the deal. This was it. She was officially Luciana Kalia Noel-James, or as she would prefer, Lucy James. October ‘19 "I love you, Luciana James. God, that never gets old," Arlen laughed, as did Lucy. "I love you too, my wonderful husband," said Lucy. They exchanged their love for the very first time being married. Once Arlen touched her neck, he moved on down to her chest. He touched her IVs by accident. "Oh, honey. It's okay," said Lucy. "Are you sure?...then can I do something?" Arlen asked. "Yes, of course. Anything." He took off her wig, showing what damage the chemotherapy had done. "Oh my God!" Yelled Lucy as she jumped out of the bed and ran to the bathroom, then locked the door. "Lucy! It's not like I've never seen you bald before! Why the drama?! There's no need!" Arlen yelled, knocking on the bathroom door. "You've ruined our night, Arlen. I understand you've seen me without hair many times. Every night in fact. But I wanted to, for just one night, to be normal. That including my hair. I wanted the perfect wedding, and I got it. Wanted the perfect honeymoon, got it. But the perfect sex...no! You must understand that I wanted perfect sex!" Cried Lucy. "Why the perfect sex? This wasn't your first time, Lucy!" Arlen yelled. "Gee, thanks for making me sound like a fucking slut!" Lucy yelled back at Arlen. "The hell is your problem! You really want to do this? You really want to ruin your perfect night? Because you are! And as a matter of fact, this was supposed to be mine too, Lucy! You're now ruining my perfect night as well!" Arlen yelled. "God, stop being a selfish asshole!" Lucy screamed. "F*ck this! I'm going outside. And we'll talk about your shit attitude later..."
