Stacie and Chandra felt relief when they saw the evening news showing a picture of Troy. The journalist stated : 
Troy Neils, a Black male 30 years old has been arrested in the shooting death of the deceased 28-year-old Black male named Jack Kerry which occurred in the vicinity of Jay Street several weeks ago. 

They soon got back to their lives, working, and completing their scheduled classes, both obtaining bachelor’s degrees, Stacie in business administration and Chandra in computer science. Not only that, but they start back doing each other’s hair. They were  roommates for at least another year before Stacie got married, vowing that she still plans to take piano lessons. Chandra did not date for a long time, however she did start taking acting lessons.
